Policy For Givingadollar.org Benevolence Fund
Givingadollar was set up as a ministry of the Oregon Trail Baptist Church to meet the needs of missionaries and full time church workers, particularly pastors and deacons. We are seeking to free Christian workers of the burden of debt as a result of medical expenses, but not necessarily limited to medical bills.
Meeting the needs of fulltime Christian workers will take priority. As the fund begins to grow, we want to start looking at helping lay-people of Bible believing Baptist churches, who are in good standing in the church, as can be substantiated by the member’s pastor.
As was afore stated, needs will be met as funds are available, to qualified full time workers. A “qualified” full time worker is one who is in agreement with our statement of faith,
The assistance will be in the form of payment, by check, from the Givingadollar Fund, directly to the provider of goods and, or services. For instance, the applicant would have to supply proof of debt, by way of a copy of a current bill and as a way of directing payment to the appropriate party.
The board of directors will decide on a case by case basis, which needs will be met, and will be determined by the qualifications of the applicant, and the amount of funds available, which will be directly determined by the amount of members responding to the need. The board of directors will be made up of the pastor, deacon, treasurer, and chief financial officer of the Oregon Trail Baptist Church, as well as the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church.
The board will meet to consider applicants at least once a month. After the unanimous agreement of the board, a request will be sent to all members, outlining the need and giving them the option to assist in that need.
